promise
We are sharing this gorgeous bright image of promise and hope to cheer up those of us in Australia who are currently in lockdown, as well as those of us in other countries who have been there and are still battling through the trials of the Delta strain. Maybe photography can help to see us through.
This captivating photograph was created by Amanda Hitchins, who posted it in our Len’s Club forum in response the ‘promise’ one word challenge back in April, along with the following words. It still resonates with me today.
“My mum is in hospital. Everyday when I visit I have to fill in a QR code, answer questions with the person at the desk and have my temperature checked, then I get my sticker and I can then go and see my mum. I am safe for my mum and other patients. At the end of my visit I leave and add my sticker to the hundreds of other colourful stickers on the street crossing button. In our glitching world at the moment, these colourful dots are our sign of promise. A promise to keep us safe.”
