Creative February journey 2024

At the beginning of February, we embarked on a month of creativity. Both Len and I have been happily drawing away every day. It is great to get into a routine where I am doing something that I really look forward to. It has been surprisingly easy to fit it into my day despite the normal demands of work and household chores etc. Sometimes I do it in the morning, other days I let myself look forward to it all day and then sit down with my pad and pencil after dinner.
Although we are supporting each other in our creative endeavours, we are not alone. We are surrounded by so many people who love to see what we do and cheer us on. In particular, we have a fantastic group in The Artists Club (Len’s online community www.theartists.club). In the club we have a subgroup dedicated to Creative February.
We started it hoping that a few might join in with us. We have been absolutely stunned by the response. There are people posting photographs taken in their garden each day, several people have also started drawing, one person is experimenting with putting their photos on clay, someone else is drawing on their photos and creating mesmerising underwater scenes, others are dabbling with some painting, someone is photographing their collection of feathers and many more!
Not only that, but the support each person gives to everyone else in the group is truly humbling. Each image posted results in a flurry of responses. Words of encouragement abound, advice is sought and received. Helpful hints dispensed. I think we are all amazed that it is day 19 and we are still creating and posting. Even the ones that initially claimed not to be creative have managed to prove themselves entirely and utterly wrong!
I am so inspired and motivated! Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me with my drawing. Thank you to everyone for encouraging each other. There is no doubt in my mind that I will continue to draw each day for the rest of February and it is purely because of doing it with such a supportive crowd.
To celebrate us creating and posting for 19 days now, we would love to share a selection of the creative work produced by this inspiring group of people. Please enjoy and cheers us on to keep going and finish Creative February!
