Imperfection

If I hung onto perfection in my work I’d never have any completed artworks to share. I could spend hours in software trying to fix every fault and give my work that plastic unreal look that pervades modern photography today.

Humanity is flawed. Let alone us as individuals. To not acknowledge and accept our flaws is a way to lie to ourselves and each other.

While I do love to acknowledge and celebrate what’s right in the world. What works and what’s positive. I believe that acknowledgment of our flaws is vital for our health and sanity.

By celebrating the flaws in my art I acknowledge the imperfections of the world and myself, leaving me feel more grounded. This I hope gives some reality and keeps my work more realistic.

I can critique my own work well enough to list every flaw I see. But I choose not too. I choose to see what’s right and beautiful in the work I share.

Well, that is what I hope I do.

I have read some beautiful comments and complements about my work recently. Heart warming. I am so thankful.
