Paul Johnson is one of a growing number of photographers who are re-visiting traditional film and darkroom techniques for creative purposes. We are totally in love with the romantic look rendered by the bromoil technique that Paul uses. His images are dreamy and atmospheric, simple and uncluttered with a softness that just makes me smile.

Len says: “Paul shows us how beautiful Bromoil images can be. A technique that was incredibly popular with The Pictoralists, the Photo-Secession group and locally to me, the Sydney Camera Circle. Modern photographic papers make Bromoil difficult with their multigrade plastic coatings. Paul manages to source some very old paper and explores this medium with vigour, passion and creativity. It is indeed an honour to share them with you.”
