introducing: Mark Littlejohn
Len met Mark through Tim Parkin who edits the UK’s On Landscape magazine. The three of them banded together to run a workshop in the Lake District five years ago. Apparently it was a fantastic week out photographing, with some amazing clients. Getting to know Mark was a very special moment for Len. They spent many an hour sipping fine malt whisky late at night, talking photography.
Len bought some of Mark’s work out to Australia for an exhibition at the Heritage Centre at Blackheath a few years ago. Many thought his were the stand out photographs of the show. As someone’s work Len absolutely loves, we thought it would be fitting to launch our first issue with his favorites of his work.
Mark Littlejohn is an exceptional UK-based photographer who see his photography as ‘incidental. It is a by product’ of his life. He takes photos while out walking in his local area and they just so happen to be totally amazing. Does it help that he lives in the beautiful Lake District, and more recently, the wilds of Scotland? Probably not, I suspect he would take amazing photos wherever he lived such is his keen eye for detail.
