Spring Artists Retreat

The next opportunity to spend some time with Shirley Steel and myself is in October at the Old Leura Dairy during the Leura Garden Festival. It’s a retreat for creativity. A place to be inspired and to make beautiful photographic art. We work on inspiration. We work on projects. We try things. We experiment. We have time to follow your projects. We help you define them and turn them into something meaningful.

We bring our printers. We bring loads of paper. We even bring our handmade book making supplies. Print as you progress along during the week and really see how you are going. We have our thoughtful and informative critiques regularly during the week.

We spoil you in lovely luxurious accommodation that is so full of visual goodies you probably don’t even need to leave the venue. We will fill you with gorgeous food. The venue is just so peaceful and relaxing.

The Leura Garden Festival is a favourite event for me. For many years I have run workshops during it. I could just spend a week buried deep in flower photography. Oh so many gorgeous gardens to visit.

Whilst our over riding theme is abstract we do always take an incredibly wide and inclusive definition of what that is. For me

Last year my full spectrum infrared camera was my tool for creativity. But I also couldn’t help myself and took some monochromatic trees too.

The thing about a retreat is that you can duck off and follow your passions without worrying what the others are up too. If waterfalls are your thing, you could spend all week chasing them. If flowers are that could be your focus. If you are unsure, then we can help you explore many possibilities.

So if you’d love to get your creativity on. Why not join us. We need to finalise the accommodation at the end of the month. So if you are considering joining us I do urge you to book now.
