The Otways

The Otways

I have been visiting and photographing The Otways in Victoria for such a long time. In the days when I’d be lucky to take a few photographs in film. At first I was mesmerised by the grand waterfalls and the spectacular coast.

With each visit I see more and more. One year I did two tours back to back. Well one was there and the next was in Narooma and we drove between the two and photographed as well. That was so long ago. But it was on that trip I started to explore the forests in the Otways. Driving into them and photographing was an incredible experience. The greens are so so beautiful there. And the forest is so thick with moss and ferns. I vowed then to return one day and stay in them and spend time photographing them.

Well the time has come, and now we have a confirmation of the week long trip to them in August. I have hired an incredible house that looks out over the ocean right in the middle of the Otways. Forest is our main focus of the week, but I am sure we will hit some waterfalls sand and some of the stunning coast.

Secretly I have my fingers crossed for some southern lights at night as well. We will be able to photograph them off the veranda if they show. There is only one space still available on this special trip. https://www.lensschool.com/workshops-tours/lens-photographic-escapes

And here are some colour ones. The rectangular ones are from my first visit with film.

You can see why I love my mononchrome so much.
