Huon Pine
This is a reflection of a Huon Pine in the Tarkine. It could be up to 3000 years old. That predates Christ. It might even be one of a stand that is 10,000 years old. A single stand that has lived for so long as a single organism. OMG. What an incredible thought.
If the toxic tailings dam goes ahead in the Tarkine this very tree will be inundated with heavy metals and poisons. This is on a gorgeous river that you can currently drink from.
A couple of my friends have created a group called Create.Change They want to do something through thier photography and other creative endeavours. So they have been using social media to push through the message. I am proud to be part of this group. A petition has been started and it’s gaining momentum very fast. I ask you to consider signing and perhaps even throwing some dollars at it to keep its momentum going. In a few short days it getting close to 5,000 signatures.

The energy in this group is amazing. It is very special when people come together to combine thier creative energy. We can make a difference. We can halt this disgusting path we are on. Things like this remind me of how powerful we become when we stand together. Let’s stop this mine. Then let’s stop the logging and turn the largest Gondwana Rainforest left standing in Australia to a world heritage area. I would love to save this for my children.
If you can in anyway share this petition out to a wider audience it will be greatly appreciated.
