Narooma 2022 Eastway & Metcalf
Peter Eastway and myself are returning to Narooma for a joint workshop in May 2022. Last year this workshop sold out in a few days from the announcement. I can only hope this one does too.
It is an interesting opportunity to work with two experienced photographers and teachers who work so differently. Such seemingly different approaches actually have so many similarities. We find ourselves agreeing more often than not. The key benefit for you is finding that exact right spot where you fit into the spectrum of photographic practice.
Narooma is a favourite spot for us both. Sweeping beaches, rugged sea cliffs and fascinating sea stacks. It’s rich coast line attracts photographers from all over the country. Fascinating formations such as Horse Head Rock, and Camel Rock. The area is rich in geological formations and attracts geologists just to study and enjoy these visually stimulating formations.
One of the special things of this workshop is we nail Peter down in the classroom and get him to teach. Between us we equally share the floor and offer a range of our best lessons. We have structured in time each day for you to process and print your work so that there are physical prints for us to critique each day.
Last year Peter expanded my thinking and practice with his teaching and demonstrating. I learnt some little tricks and had some big breakthrough moments of understanding. He found the same from me and my teaching. High praise indeed. This workshop will expand your approach no matter where you are in your approach.
We take an Epson printer and each participant leaves with a handful of gorgeous fine art prints from the week. Imagine having so much extensive experience helping you get the most out of each print.
This workshop is a delicate balance of stunning location shoots, classroom teaching, personal production of prints, great food, and luxurious accommodation. In fact you can photograph from your balcony if you wished.
One of the things I loved about this week was enjoying a glass of red with everyone sharing a love for photography.
