Blackheath Art Society Show
“The creative habit is like a drug. The particular obsession changes, but the excitement, the thrill of your creation lasts.”
~ Henry Moore
Am heading up the Blue Mts again today, for I have to judge the Blackheath Art Society’s annual art show. The opening is on tomorrow afternoon at 2.30. Hopefully I will see you there. The show is open all weekend. There is a lovely piece about it in the Blue Mountains Gazette this week too.
This is the first time I have been asked to judge art, rather than just photography. What a beautiful honour. Am so looking forward to the experience and to meeting some more artists.
If you do come, make sure you visit Em’s show at the NPWS Heritage Center near Govetts Leap. It’s only up for another few weeks.
Todays Photograph is an out take. I usually show a very similar photograph taken moments before this one that has a park bench in it. The bench ads a different dimension. This one is simpler, yet may not have the same interest.
I am fascinated that my work elicits such differences in viewer reactions. It reminds me that there are three at every image. The artist, the artwork and the viewer. Each has a life of thier own.
