Leura retreat

Last year I was lucky to have been able to go on the abstract retreat in Leura. I was working, helping Len and Shirley, still, I also had time to attempt to get creative and learn some new techniques.

This wasn’t like a normal workshop, there was time for everyone to completely immerse themselves in their photography and the location. Not only that, but to really experiment and try new things. The images I share with you now are a direct result of that. They were total happy accidents. Shirley and I had made a sudden stop at a group of trees that were in full on Autumn glow mode and I told myself to just experiment and see what happens. What happened wasn’t really what I had expected to happen, but I really liked it. So, thank you to Shirley for inspiring me on that particular day to try something a bit different.

This year it will be Spring, not Autumn, so we will have lots of flowers to play with this time round which will be awesome.

The accommodation is quirky, comfortable and has lots of opportunities for interesting photos. An added bonus is that Len brings his printer so we get to print out some of our images and do interesting things with them, like make them into handmade books.

There is still space so if you’d like to join us in beautiful Leura in Spring then you can book here: https://www.lensschool.com/workshops-tours/the-abstract-retreat
