exhibition: Hilma af Klint: The Secret Paintings
Hilma af Klint exhibition, opening 12 June – 19 September 2021, at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
If you are in Sydney during this exhibition, it will be well worth a visit. Len says: “For us lovers of abstract art, one can not help but be in awe of the grandmother of the genre. Hilma af Klint’s art has been kept secret for way too long. Her work predates modern abstract art by a very long time. Her work only recently has been seen by art historians in its true context and place in history. I think the feminist context also needs to be acknowledged in her past. If you love the abstract you will love this show of her paintings.”
