Exhibition: Evolving
Evolving
Dates: 15th to 25th February 2024
Location: Maud Street Photo Gallery, 6 Maud St, Newstead, Brisbane.
Artists: The Fine Monochrome Print Group
For this exhibition, the photographers have used traditional and digital photographic methods to help tell their stories. The traditional methods include silver gelatin, hand-crafted ambrotypes (images on glass substrates), platinum images on vellum with gold and silver leaf, Mordançage techniques, and hand-painted monochrome prints. Several photographers have employed digital techniques to create expressive prints that have an impact.
Anyone wishing to attend the opening can scan the QR code or visit the Maud Street Gallery webpage to register their intention to attend the opening. Registering is for catering purposes. The event is free to attend.

We are particularly excited by the handmade books by Tony and Wendy Dutton that will be exhibited as part of this show.
Julian's triptych is made of platinum / palladium prints on vellum over silver and gold leaf. The centre image of the Oriel Window at Lacock Abbey is a homage to one of the earliest photographs made by Fox Talbot in 1835.
