Our Love Affair with Trees

Jodi Rose and I have finished photographing and writing our book. It’s been over two years to get it to here. So much wonderful collaborative work together. I already miss it. The words are being edited as we speak. Then it’s off to various publishers in search of one to take it on. It is so exciting.

We created amazing artworks with beautiful trees and the most fabulous dancers. Working to explore that personal connection between humanity and our lungs of our precious earth.

It reminds me how much I need collaborations in my life. I thrive on them. Teaching always feels like a collaboration too. We work together as teacher and student nurturing growth. The metaphor of plants growing is so inspiring when we apply it to education.

Last week I learnt that removing red foods from a child’s diet grounds them. I learnt that taking red placebos acts as stimulants on people. I wonder if the red food is as psychological as the placebo or do they have special characteristics? We so often couch sugar in red don’t we.

Do you know I am so thankful for the lessons I learn while I am teaching. So thankful for the lessons I learn when collaborating.

I do hope Jodi and I find another to create together. I also hope there are many more in my life.
