I had a huge selection of gorgeous cushions for sale in chatterbox Wollongong up until the pandemic forced the closure of the store. They recently reopened with a new covid appropriate store. The customer browses on the outside and the staff are on the inside and handle the goods for you.
They needed to fill a little space at one of their Sydney stores and put a few cushions in the Marrickville one. Low and behold they sold them straight away. It seems it was just a matter of hitting the right location for my work. It reminds me of the dance performance Jodi Rose put on in Wollaraha celebrating trees, where we sold so many of my beautiful scarves.
Obviously Wollongong wasn’t the spot for me.
I should know by now that location and audience are paramount. I just need to find the right audience to sell my prints too.
This photograph of this little bird made the most stunning white pillow. I hope the owners love it. Taken in Namibia.
I will be announcing new trips and workshops soon. Specially for escaping our lockdown. Local. Small. Gentle. Friendly. Caring. Risk minimised. And most of all photogenic. Am working on the program right now. I so need to be out Bush with my camera and some lovely people to inspire. It’s fascinating how inspiring others inspires me. It’s probably obvious. I said the other month that I take my best work when I am away with others. Something magical happens. I will write my next better photography article on it if peter publishes another issue. It’s something I have been thinking about for a while.
