Cubist moment

I have given up looking through my monochrome work in colour. Was too depressing. Because it made me feel like I was undervaluing the original intent. So have gone back into my abstract work which has a colour intent at the moment of capture.

I never take a colour photograph and think to myself, wow Len, that would make a great monochrome. When I pick up my camera I decide what I am going to work on for the next bit and dive in whole heartily. I believe the work is so much stronger because of this. Monochrome is never an after thought. Well, obviously, Len, colour isn’t either.

Sometimes one has to try these things to figure this stuff out.

Has anyone else had problems viewing the photographs in their emails? They have been turning up as a little pill shaped strip for some. You click on it and the photo appears for a bit? Am trying to figure out where this is happening? For me it’s only on my phone in the gmail app?

The emails are generated automatically by Mailchimp from the RSS feed from my website. This means that you can always see the original post and photograph at http://lenmetcalf.com

This cubist moment is taken at Tin City. We went there during the stay and play component of the last abstract photography workshop. It’s a handheld steady I think.
