Now Open, level 3, Chatterbox Store, near the Apple shop, Broadway Center, Sydney. Only open for November 2020

Yesterday saw Natalie and I install my stall at Chatterbox in Broadway. It only took a couple of hours to get set up. It does look fabulous, something I am always embarrassed to say about my own work.

I went all in with a bold touch of colour. Coloured greeting cards. Each individual rather than piles of sets. I am now wishing I had printed some colourful scarves too. Next time perhaps.

The real crown in the jewels are the three prints. They are my first tries at prints on glass. When I discovered a company down the road from me makes them on glass rather than the usual Perspex I thought I’d give them a go. Honestly they are so beautiful I am going to try some of my sepias on them too. For the colour ones I go with the metallic paper for that extra shine and gloss. I can’t wait to do an even bigger one. We can also do splash backs, tables and feature walls. The possibilities are endless. Any of my photographs will work. They will just have a different feel to my usual preference for pigment on cotton rag paper, which is really the better choice for investments. The prints on glass are archival, just not to the same degree.

These are my first prints of my abstract photography. My first in colour for nearly twenty years. Ken Duncan’s printer did my last really stunning colour prints on cibachrome in 2000 for the Leonard Metcalf Gallery in Katoomba. I still have them all as they didn’t sell in the sizes I printed. Equally, I am over the moon with them. Stunning. The large one will go in my bedroom, unless someone snaps it up first.

That plywood wall could do with five coats of ebony stain like the other side has. But the art cube is no longer mine and is now a permanent fixture at Broadway for other artists to use. I’d really love a permanent place to have my work. Unfortunately most offerings are too expensive for me to maintain or too far away like a Kiama was. Really it needs to be in the mts I think.

I will spend some time there but haven’t picked the dates or days yet. I will get back to you on that one.

Anyway, the cube is full of my work for a month and it’s full of ideal gifts for the festive season. If you are in Sydney I extend my invitation to you to visit. Please consider buying something to help support this artist. It goes to a great cause.
