Writing

“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”

― Sylvia Plath

I should write more about my life. I tend to keep so much of it to myself. A big breath and a little more guts apparently.

I do tend to worry too much about what others will think.

Self doubt is the big killer in my art. What if it doesn’t work. That won’t work. Negative self talk. Seeking out what’s wrong.

Positive, playful, exploitative and experimental is the key. Look for what’s right. Play with what you enjoy.

Am trying to bring that same attitude into my writing.

My latest article for On Landscape is now out. I bit of a milestone really. First time I have been hunted down for a series of articles and a real payment. Rather than the usual bartering I do with others for advertising. Is a milestone. Not just a bit of one.

I do encourage you to consider subscribing. It’s undoubtedly the most interesting feed of landscape photography around. It’s remarkably consistently fantastic and regular. Tim and Charlotte are the most wonderful people and their beautiful attitude and love for the landscape and people really comes through in their magazine.
