Prowlers

We had a prowler on Sunday night.  Natalie and I were out just finished dinner at Crows Nest, when mum rings.  “Is that you trying the back door?” 

We run out of the restaurant and drive home.  The full story unfolds.  Momo saved the day.  Momo is my Maltise Terrier cross Bishon Frise pup.  You will hear more about how this little happy ball of fluff and attitude has changed our lives I am sure. 

It was his barking that scared them away.  Two men wandering the street checking what doors were open to see what they could steal.  They came around the the back of the house.  They almost opened the back door but Momo was onto them.  They fled. 

We called the police and two lovely officers came.  Mum was unsettled for the rest of the night.  Not a pleasant night. But all is well, nothing taken, no one hurt.

Last night I spoke at the Blue Mts Camera Club on Abstract Photography. I am so pleased with how far my public speaking has come with the last eight years of practice talking at camera clubs. Being my worst self critic I can assure you I am hyper critical and notice every mistake I make.  Now days I am happy with each one.  I need to start videoing them soon. 

It was hot on the heels of a day of writing.  Shirley Steel and we have 14,000 words down on our manuscript for our book on Abstract Photography.  This month we secured an editor.  So exciting. So much easier working in collaborations.

Jodi Rose and I are working on a different book about dancers and trees.  We will start showing the photographs very soon. 

Kel published his amazing book on the Indigenous Archaeology in the Blue Mountains (particularly around Warragamba Dam). I found my copy in the bookshop at Wentworth Falls. I am sorry I missed the launch, and feel so blessed to be asked to contribute.  Thanks Kel.  I do hope this helps in the fight against raising the dam wall.  There is a demonstration against it in Katoomba in Saturday, perhaps Cyan and I will see you there.   The Colong Foundation is doing a great job of leading the campaign to have it stopped.  I am grateful that Bob Brown and Bob Debus has been helping them.

I have to write a speech for Emily’s opening this Saturday.  I hope to see some of you there.  I also have to write an article for On Landscape Photography Magazine in the UK.  

It seems a few days at the computer are coming.   

The first samples of my women’s clothing have arrived.  Omg stunning.  I can’t wait to show you and get them into my shop at Kiama.   The first few scarves are now for sale on my website. 

I think that’s most of the news for this week.
