introducing: Shaun McGrath

Shaun McGrath is another of our local, Australian photographers. We are excited to be featuring a series of his work in our next issue of Len’s Journal, volume four, issue one.

Shaun seeks calm in wild places that are otherwise deserted. His images portray his journey after dark, some eerie, some quirky, exploring the solitude and his connection with nature.

Len says: “Shaun is such a prolific artist, continually running around, mostly at night, photographing after everyone is asleep. His instagram handle captures our attention, and as we explore his mostly night time work we find little glimpses of him naked in the landscape. We haven’t published many figurative bodies of works in Len’s Journal, yet it has always been our intention to do so. So, it is with great pleasure we share his work. I find the artworks so familiar, probably due to knowing so many of the locations he visits so close to Sydney. I hope you find his work as beautiful as I do“.
