Two Birds

Don’t you just love how Micheal Kenna names his photographs. 108 birds or 72 posts. Can you imagine what sort of person he is? With that much attention to detail. Have you even thought about that?

Sometimes names of artworks tell us things. Inform us. Show us something we might have missed. The words change the meanings of the artwork, the photograph. The author is injecting something else into your thoughts.

I only just realised that words can also be read so differently by each of us. Comprehension at school makes us unpack text as a universal truth. But it isn’t is it. Like studying poetry there can be so many meanings from just a few words. Our reactions are all different.

Rather than leave the pleasure of discovering these two beautiful birds in my art I wanted boldly point you to them. To make up for thier lack of differentiation from the trees. Hidden and camouflaged.

Have you subscribed to the new mailing list yet? If you don’t these inspirations will stop.
